Full Steam Ahead!
Established Nova Scotian rope manufacturer rebrands and retools for international success.
The former Canada Rope & Twine Ltd. has recently undergone some major upgrades, including a new name, a complete rebrand, a new facility, expanded capability, and the launch of an innovative flagship product that will revolutionize sustainable aquaculture operations.
The new moniker, CoastLine Cordage Group , was born from a need to avoid confusion in the market, and the rebrand positions the company as an industry leader and innovator to promote international trade.
Beyond the visible changes, CoastLine has moved its operations to a larger venue in Bedford’s Atlantic Acres Business Park . The new digs facilitate the addition of eighteen manufacturing machines which add considerable capacity, thus creating six new production jobs at the operation. Previously, the company was at maximum capacity and forced to turn down work. With the expansion, and a ten-fold increase in production speed, they are now able to meet the increasing demands of clients locally and internationally.
In an industry not typically known for innovation, CoastLine has developed an eco-friendly rope matrix used in mussel aquaculture operations internationally. The flagship product, branded EcoStrand® , complies with stringent new ecological requirements and increases yields over previous aquaculture systems.
The company’s refreshed image and increased capacity will fuel growth and leverage untapped opportunity. CoastLine acknowledges that assistance from business development partners, The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), and Export Development Canada (EDC) has been instrumental in the transformation.
